Don't let the outside fool you. Go in. Eat. It's the best food around. I've had the best steak and perch! I'd eat steak here over any expensive steakhouse any day. Worth the drive if you are far!
We ate at the Stony Lake Inn last night and were super impressed with the steaks we ordered. When first pulling up, you might hesitate to go in. DO NOT let the outside fool you. This place is a diamond in the rough. The steaks were cooked perfectly and had an amazing flavor. The salad bar is small but it does the trick. I had the baby baker potatoes and they were also very well cooked. If you like deep fried cauliflower, this place might very well have the best on the planet. We will be back before we head back home from our vacation to get some more of this excellent food.

Great bar food and we're picky. I had the perch sandwich and onion rings and hubby had the bourbon salmon which was moist and tender, fresh veggies not over cooked.
My husband and I heard that this was a great place to have perch and decided to give it a try. Walked in and was never greeted. Sat at the bar and waited several minutes for the bartender to approach us. She felt that cleaning off a table and running other customers keno tickets was priority over serving us our first drink. We ordered a perch dinner priced at 19.99 with one of the sides being a tossed salad, I was offered a trip to the salad bar. I went to get my salad and got back to the bar to find I had no silverware. I waited another five minutes for my silverware. As I waited my husband had to ask out loud across the bar for another beverage. She then realized what I needed. When we got our dinner the fish was soggy, breading falling off .. gross! We were never asked how our food tasted. One of the worst experiences I've ever had. This was the first time in my life that I did not leave a tip and didn't regret it at all. If you're in the area and want good perch, take the drive south to Bear Lake Tavern in N Muskegon for the best perch you'll find for a dollar less. No, I don't work there nor am any way affiliated besides being a customer who likes to get my bang for the buck. Stay away from Stony Lake Inn.

Reliably good bar food, local beers on tap, in a very relaxed atmosphere. Love the wet burritos.
